The practice builds on an office established in 2000 by Alexander Pols and the Berlin-based architect Hans Kollhoff. In 2015 the practice continued as Kollhoff & Pols architecten. Since 2026, it has operated under the name POLS_architects.
Alexander Pols
Alongside his work as an architect, Alexander Pols advises on architectural quality in both the Netherlands and Germany. He is a member of the Advisory Committee for Environmental Quality and Cultural Heritage in The Hague and the Gestaltungsrat in Potsdam. He is also Chair of the Examination Committee of the Dutch Architects Register, teaches as a guest lecturer and regularly gives lectures.
